“I Invite You To Come To My FREE 60-minute Weightlifting Technique Taster Session and Learn How To Become Stronger, Leaner and Healthier… For Life…”

Hello. Thank you for coming to this webpage. My name is Sam Young. I am a Weightlifting Coach and at my FREE 60-minute Weightlifting Technique taster session, I will teach you how to do what I am doing in the video below…

That video clip was taken at the recent Northern Open, where I finished first in my weight category.

The competition involved having 3 attempts at each of the two Olympic lifts, the “Snatch” and the “Clean & Jerk”, which I will teach you exactly how to do at my free taster session.

Both these lifts‎ will make your whole body stronger, healthier and leaner (when combined with good nutrition)… For Life !

If you are interested in ‎becoming stronger, leaner and healthier for life by learning these two Olympic lifts, definitely come to my FREE 60-minute Weightlifting Technique taster session. It will be for absolute beginners, where you will be able to try the lifts (or variations) with very light weights, have your technique looked at and assessed and given exercises to improve your movement and mobility to progress with the lifts.

All you need to do to get a place is to apply to me by email at: sam@strongforlife.co.uk , telling me a bit about yourself and stating your main two reasons for wanting to learn the Olympic lifts – and I will get back to you with all the details.

You might now be thinking “I could never do those lifts !!”. But I know differently because even I couldn’t do these lifts three years ago – I started clumsily learning with an empty 20 kilo bar and I have never looked back since.

In short, ANYONE can do the Olympic lifts – with the right instruction – as you will soon see…

As well as being a weightlifter myself, I am also equally passionate about coaching others to lift. There were a lot of barriers to getting involved in weightlifting in my part of the world, but my goal is to break these barriers down and enable many more people in my local area to have access to learning the Olympic lifts.

I’m now very proud and pleased to have my first established small group of weightlifters, and they’ve each kindly given their views on what weightlifting means to them and how they benefit from the sport:

“Learning weightlifting with Sam has helped me to lose five stone, and more importantly; feel healthier and more confident – all through doing something I enjoy and find challenging!
Sam’s attitude to including women in weightlifting particularly pleases me. I feel sad to think women would be put off from weightlifting due to feeling intimidated, or to worries of becoming “bulky”. The results I’ve seen are exactly the opposite – I’m leaner and more confident than ever! I have no desire to compete in weightlifting but the other benefits of performing the lifts are great enough for me to continue to keep practicing and improving”

“I did Sam’s beginner weightlifting course over two years ago and haven’t looked back since! I went through phases of skipping the gym, but now I have regular sessions with Sam’s weightlifting club and train multiple times per week. My commitment to training has since increased massively and it has resulted in recent personal best lifts.

“Weightlifting targets the whole body for an effective overall workout and has greatly improved my strength, power and speed as well as mind-body connection. The fundamental principles of weightlifting carries over to most dynamic sports as well. Essentially, because of weightlifting, I feel better about my health and my ability in general. I find trying new activities to be less daunting and more fun, and even relatively easy”.

“I’ve always enjoyed general weight training, but since learning the Olympic lifts on Sam’s beginner course, this has really taken my strength, mobility and confidence to the next level! I’m now part of Sam’s weightlifting club, which runs regular sessions and has enabled me to meet and train with people who equally enjoy weightlifting. The motivation of the group makes a huge difference when it comes to attempting new personal bests lifts. I have already competed in the sport and have entered another competition as this gives me real focus to my training and the experience brings out the best in my lifting”.

“Sam is a great coach and has helped to improve my lifting technique greatly. Some members of the group have their sights on competing but my focus at the moment is to improve my technique and own personal bests. I highly recommend his weightlifting beginners course and teachings. The people who take part in the club are friendly and encouraging. It’s great to be part of it”.

“After doing Sam’s beginner course, I am now hooked on weightlifting! Training is now no longer a chore – my technique, flexibility and confidence are growing all of the time and hitting new personal bests gives me such as buzz! I now train at Sam’s weightlifting club where I’ve made new friends and we all encourage each other with our lifting. I look forward to every session and enjoy the balance of hard work and fun that we have within the group”.

“Having competed in weightlifting over 15 years ago, it was great to find somewhere local to rekindle my enjoyment for the sport! I originally started weightlifting to help improve strength and power for my sport, found out I was good at it and went on to represent England. However, weightlifting is brilliant, even for those who don’t have plans to compete. It’s now helping me to become leaner and to regain strength and suppleness like no other exercises can. The social side and helping to encourage the younger lifters to improve is also very rewarding”
